Nice post.

Consider this experiment, if the medical establishment tries to understand expectations of people who visit a facility and then articulate all of them in a mind map it would get a sense of how even the smallest thing makes a huge difference.

To help start the conversation , currently the outpatient and inpatient expectations without the specific medical interventions related expectations have been mapped on this link

I believe the experience you suffered is a very common one - which we suffer and can differentiate with the facilities and treatment we get here, even though this is a foreign country! I believe the population - facility ratio is the major factor behind this.

Anas, The hospital has jacked up its OPD fee and charges a wooping 700 bucks per visit.. i wonder how many of us can afford that. I guess, we pay price for the JCI accreditation and other such tags. An injection is double the cost at the hospital pharmacy and needless to say the tests are all priced with a huge margin..

A hospital with able doctors and infrastructure- They know that ppl will come no matter what pay the price asked for because no one compromised on health of their loved one.. though I wonder, is it fair?

Nothing in India is for ppl, it is all profit driven... but yet, the standards are terrible.

Only if anyone will tell me if I am paying the money asked for why should i still get second grade treatment?

Doesn’t this sound completely hare brained? Does this require any proof?
The existing private colleges using government hospital facilities is a proof of failure of such concepts.Unless Government makes the determined effort to adhere to strict norms and offer proper working conditions of medical teachers things would not improve at any time

I agree with your views like many other people world over. Being the president of the most powerful country, Mr.Obama has only shown his intent for world peace and coexistence. But he has to demonstrate all this through his actions which is challenging in the present political thinking in his country.

nice information
completely agree to the nexus between the health officials of the government and these hospitals.
infact i think it is much more deep, like a cancer which will take time, if at all treated.
ciao
